🎶 Congratulations to our SHEP Participants! 🎶
We proudly congratulate our talented music students who were selected to participate in the Griffith University State Honours Ensemble Program (SHEP) this year. SHEP brings together outstanding young musicians from across Queensland to develop their skills, work with renowned conductors, and perform alongside other high-achieving students.

Our students participated in both the Rockhampton SHEP program in February and the Capricornia SHEP program in May, representing our school with pride, dedication and musical excellence.

👏 A special congratulations go to Ruby (pictured centre), who achieved the outstanding accomplishment of being selected for both Rockhampton and Capricornia ensembles — a remarkable achievement that reflects her hard work, talent and commitment to music.

We are incredibly proud of all students involved for embracing these opportunities to grow as musicians and for showcasing the strength of music education at NRSHS.

⚙️💻 Exploring the Future of Manufacturing! 🚀🏭
Last Tuesday, a group of senior students had the opportunity to participate in the CNC Machining and Code Program, delivered locally through a partnership between the Manufacturing Hub and the Queensland Manufacturing Institute (QMI).

This hands-on experience introduced students to the exciting world of advanced manufacturing, coding and engineering, providing valuable insight into future career pathways in these growing industries.

A huge thank you to QMI and the Manufacturing Hub for delivering this fantastic program, and to Depco Drilling for showcasing the incredible opportunities available within the manufacturing sector. Experiences like these help inspire the next generation of skilled workers, problem-solvers and innovators.

At our school, every student deserves to feel safe, valued and respected. Parents, carers and visitors play an important role in helping create a positive environment by treating all students, staff and community members with courtesy and respect.

🎓 Celebrating Success! 🎓
Congratulations to Year 10 students Jaylom and Jai, who graduated from the Transition 2 Success (T2S) program yesterday! 👏

Pictured with Ricky McHugh, a proud North Rockhampton State High School alumnus and Senior Transition Officer, the boys successfully completed the program, gaining hands-on experience, developing real-world job skills, achieving several certificates, and building confidence in their future pathways. They also set meaningful goals to support their transition into further training, employment, and future success.

On Thursday 21 May, our talented North Rockhampton State High School musicians proudly represented our school at the annual Creative Generation Instrumental Fanfare Festival, showcasing their dedication, professionalism and outstanding musicianship.

We are thrilled to celebrate the following achievements:
🥇 Band Ensemble – GOLD
🥈 Strings Ensemble – SILVER

These results reflect the hard work, commitment and passion of our students, who performed brilliantly on the day.

A special thank you to our Instrumental Music teachers, Mr Samuels and Ms Fenning, whose tireless dedication, guidance and support help our students achieve success at such a high level.
