Join our Libraries team for a magical morning where theyโ€™ll be reading Julia Donaldsonโ€™s ๐€ ๐’๐ช๐ฎ๐š๐ฌ๐ก ๐š๐ง๐ ๐š ๐’๐ช๐ฎ๐ž๐ž๐ณ๐ž. ๐Ÿท๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ

โ˜€๏ธ Bring a picnic rug, hat, sunscreen, and a few snacks, and settle in for a morning of fun!

Get ready for an AUTHOR Talk on Saturday 16 May, 10am-11am at the Southside Library!

Joel is an accomplished writer, artist and poet whose passionate, poignant and personal performances have entertained audiences in regional Queensland for over a decade. A graduate of James Cook University's School of Creative Arts, Joel's published works include two poetry collections in printโ€”Vagrant Spirit (2025) and Stardust and Soil (2022)โ€”as well as spoken word recordings Dogma (2018), Hiding From The Light (2018), and Monarch (2016).

Joel believes strongly in the value of creative self-expression, and hopes to inspire and equip others to discover and use their own authentic voice. He lives in North Rockhampton with his dwindling collection of cacti and succulents, and his growing collection of freshwater shrimp.

๐Ÿ“˜ ๐Ÿ“— The lovely little Mount Morgan Library will be open Saturday 9 May from 9am-12noon. Make sure you drop in and pick up an armful of great books to read over the weekend.

Coming up on Monday 25 May, we will be hosting our Read & Play session from 10am- 11am at the Mount Morgan Library. This is ideal for young children and their parents/carers and is totally free!

This month on 25 May, we are delighted to welcome Teneille from Parent Pathways who will have a bag of goodies to give to parents of young children under 6 years of age following the story session at Mount Morgan Library.

Teneille will be on hand to talk about the free Parent Pathway program helping parents reach personal, study or work goals without affecting government payments.

The Northside Library is open Saturday from 9am-12noon, and the Southside Library is open 9am-3pm.
