Today was our Annual National Sorry Day candle lighting ceremony. Today, we again took a moment to acknowledge and pay tribute to our First Nation Australians affected by The Stolen Generations. Today, our kinder children came to help light our Sorry Day candle as we spoke about the importance of making good choices and helping all Australians to feel safe and happy!

Our Bush Kinder program is in full swing for Term 2! Our 4-yr old kinder group had their second visit yesterday and had a wonderful time playing on the playground before going a bug hunt and discovering all the natural materials in our local reserve!

We love special events at KOM!! Some events we have enjoyed lately have been the Persian New Year, Easter celebrations, Epilepsy Awearness day and World Art day just to name a few!!

This year we have commenced our Children's Committee, this is where the children have meetings with our management team to be involved in the decision making around the centre. Our first meeting this year focused on what new resources the children would like for the rooms including bikes, monster trucks, kitchen equipment and much more. We are excited that our new order of resources arrived this week and the children are having lots of fun engaging with them.

To help us celebrate Dr Seuss's Birthday we had lots of fun activities and artworks in the rooms. We loved seeing some of the fun Dr Seuss dress ups from staff and children. We hope everyone had a fun day!

With the start of a new year the Kinder group has started to take ownership of watering and checking on the centre garden. We have been watering it everyday and this week we were able to pick some radishes and strawberries. The Kinder’s helped to wash all the dirt off and got to taste test the tiny strawberries. On Wednesday we added some chopped up radishes to our Honey Mustard Chicken Salad for lunch. The Kinder’s were very brave and tried the radishes even if they didn’t like it. Some children asked to add more into their salad. We hope to have more fruits and veggies growing soon.
