The Great Mullum Camp Out was a tremendous success. Perfect weather; pitching tents on the oval; eating pizza and toasting marshmallows; playing Sardines in the dark; sleeping in a tent and pancakes for breakfast… what more could you ask for? Our littlest learners have been busy this week growing their knowledge about measurement.

Following explicit learning about informal units and how to measure accurately, our students have been measuring the length of their bodies using chalk and Unifix blocks.

We loved seeing their careful measuring, teamwork and creativity along the way!

Grade 2 at Como House

On Thursday, our Grade 2 students stepped back in time at Como House!

As part of our History learning, we explored how work, play, technology and communication have changed over time.

Students took part in four activities:

- Touring the historic mansion
- Playing olden-day games
- Completing a scavenger hunt
- Experiencing life as a servant

A wonderful day of hands-on learning, curiosity and fun!

What a fantastic day at District Athletics on Tuesday! ☀️

There wasn’t a cloud in the sky, and our Mullum athletes did an amazing job, finishing 4th in track, 6th in field and 4th overall.

It was a great day full of effort, teamwork, encouragement and school spirit. Well done to everyone who competed and represented Mullum so proudly! 👏🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

⚾️🥎 BATTER UP! 🥎⚾️

Our Grade 5/6 students have been knocking it out of the park during their 3-session softball lessons!

They’ve been mastering their batting stance, practising their throwing and catching with a mitt and learning the rules!

There were plenty of big swings, great catches, wild throws and lots of laughs along the way!

It’s been fantastic to see their coordination, confidence and skills improve while having a whole lot of fun!

What an incredible State Schools Spectacular experience!

We are so proud of our students for the enthusiasm, commitment and confidence they brought to this special event. From rehearsals to the final performance, they embraced every opportunity and created memories that will last well beyond the stage.

Mullum is getting ready for Book Week next week, with lots of exciting activities happening around the school! Students will have plenty of opportunities to celebrate the joy of books and reading, including our much-loved Book Week Dress-Up Day, where everyone can come dressed as a favourite book character.
Throughout the week, students can also take part in a range of fun Book Week lunch clubs and activities!
We’ll also be encouraging students to get involved in Wild Reading for our final week in the Premiers Reading Challenge. The class who reads the most books will earn themselves a Free Dress Day!

💌📮 Our Foundation students sure have been busy learning all about the services in our community! This time with a walk to the local Australia Postbox to post a handwritten letter home. They have learnt all about the journey their letter will take from the classroom, to the postbox, to the sorting center and then to their own letterboxes. They can’t wait to receive their letters at home!
