Most importantly there will be a great photographic display, showing the history of the Richmond Wesleyan, Methodist and Presbyterian church, and their merger to become the Uniting Church in 1977. During the Festival we ran three mini bus tours to the Jersey Street Presbyterian Cemetery for a very informative guided talk by Michelle Nichols. Michelle, a local Historian, shared fascinating details of many of the graves where some of the pioneers and interesting local people were buried.

Thank you so much for all of you who came along on Saturday to support the Festival. Your happy enthusiasm made all of the work so worthwhile. In the main, the workers were too busy to take too many photographs of the day. If you did it would be be appreciated if you could share. Hard copy for the records would be even better. Unfortunately most of us did not get to see the activities outside our own area so it would be lovely to just get a glimpse. 😀

Richmond Heritage Festival today - what a huge success 👍 A pity that the workers don’t really get a chance to see it all. Joy grabbed a few photos early, mainly in the Old Post Office where there were three long-term ex employees talking and answering questions. Colo Shire Family History Group was flat strap, with a photo display there, and the beautiful ‘Then and Now of Richmond ‘ photo display done by our President Carolynne. She was also very involved in the Richmond Rail display outside with photos and artefacts set up by her son Sean. Carolynne and Joy also did two extensive ‘Then and Now’ PowerPoint in the church auditorium which were very well received. Hopefully we will see lots more images of other parts of the celebrations. Well done to the whole team!
