💛 National Child Protection Week – Every Conversation Matters 💛
As National Child Protection Week comes to an end, we are reminded that keeping children and young people safe is everyone’s responsibility.
This year’s theme, “Every Conversation Matters: Shifting Conversation to Action,” encourages us to move beyond talking about child safety and consider the actions we can take to help children feel safe, heard, supported and valued.
As parents, carers, educators and members of our community, we all have a role to play. This might be as simple as:
💬 Creating safe spaces for children to talk
👂 Listening and taking children seriously
🤝 Knowing where to seek support when needed
🌱 Teaching children about safe and respectful relationships
❤️ Speaking up when something doesn’t feel right
While Child Protection Week may be coming to an end, the conversations and actions don’t need to stop here.
📚 We have attached some helpful resources for parents and carers with information and practical ideas to support conversations about child safety, wellbeing and relationships at home.
Let’s continue working together to create a community where every child is safe, supported and able to thrive. 💛
