Belonging at Fernbrooke – Our Mission and Values

Thank you to our P&C for their consultation, consideration and support of our proposed Mission Statement and School Values. We appreciate the time taken to review and provide feedback on the words collaboratively developed by our staff and students.

We are excited to now bring these commitments to life across our school.

🌟 Student Engagement with Miss Curwen

Our Week 10 PBL focus is Successful – following and exceeding our STAR expectations.

Families can support this at home by encouraging children to go above and beyond expectations – helping without being asked, showing initiative, persevering when things are challenging and taking responsibility for their actions. 🌟

Keep talking about what it means to be Safe, Thinker, Attending, Respectful and Successful at home, at school and in the community.

🌼 Over the holidays, maintaining familiar routines and encouraging children to exceed expectations at home will help them return confident, prepared and ready for a successful Term 4.

Congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 students on a fantastic Gala Sports season!

🌿 Learning Across the Early Years

What a wonderful end to Term 3! Our Prep students have been busy retelling special experiences, Year 1 have been writing step-by-step procedures, and Year 2 have been persuading us to visit some amazing Australian destinations! 📚✏️

A big thank you to our families for joining us for Parent–Teacher Interviews and our special Prep Father’s Day afternoon. Your involvement and support are greatly appreciated. 💙

There has been plenty happening beyond the classroom too, including our new worm farms in the school garden 🪱🌱, Prep–Year 1 transition visits and our ongoing Prep 2027 transition sessions.

🚒 Our Year 1 QFES visit was cut short when firefighters were called away to a real emergency. The visit will be rescheduled, and we will share the new date with Year 1 families once confirmed.

Looking ahead, Prep swimming begins in Weeks 4–6 next term, so families should keep an eye out for information coming home.

🌼 We wish all our Early Years families a safe and relaxing holiday break and look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 4 on Tuesday, 6 October!
