🐦 With bird flu present in the state, we all have an important role to play in protecting our community, pets and wildlife. If you come across sick or dead birds or other wildlife, please:

• Avoid contact
• Record the exact location and what you observed
• Report it online or call 1800 675 888

🐾 If you’re a pet owner, there are also a few simple steps you can take to help keep your furry friends safe. Consider transitioning cats to an indoor lifestyle, keep pets away from wildlife, keep dogs on a lead during walks, especially in areas where birds gather, and avoid feeding pets raw animal products.

🌊The 5-year review will evolve our existing plan - your local knowledge, lived experience, and ideas can help shape a Climate Strategy that is understood, and supported by our community.

📣Specialised skills or knowledge are not a requirement - how do we care for our environment?

🍃EOIs are open to all community members who live in the Borough. Non-resident ratepayers who are interested in participating are also welcome to email Council their interest in participating.

🌿 Expressions of Interest (EOI) are open to all community members who would like to contribute to the 5-year review of the Climate Emergency Response Plan (CERP).

👥 As part of the community engagement process, Council’s independent consultant, Nation Partners, will facilitate two roundtable discussions in October.

🗣️ The EOI includes a number of questions to help Nation Partners select a group of participants that reflects a broad mix of community perspectives, interests and experience. The EOI should take no longer than a few minutes to complete.

🚶 A section of the Queenscliff to Point Lonsdale walking track is getting an upgrade! Between the Point Lonsdale Pier to Rip View car park, the existing wire fencing will be replaced with timber fencing to improve safety, while keeping the track in line with its beautiful coastal setting.

🚧 The works are scheduled to begin on Tuesday 1 September until Friday 4 September. To ensure public safety, the walking track will be closed during this time with alternative access along Point Lonsdale Road. Please keep in mind that the schedule may shift at short notice if the weather doesn’t cooperate.

🤝 Council thanks you for your patience while we make these improvements to our coastline.
