Ho Ho Ho

Santa's helpers are getting the trucks decorated for tonight's visit to the streets of Queanbeyan.

To ensure the Santa run is safe for all, we ask a few things:

- Please understand the route is the route. It’s tradition. If we don’t come to you, you can come to us. Listen out for the sirens which will give you an indication when we get close to you. Our live tracking will be posted at 4pm when we leave the station.

- We typically avoid going into cul-de-sac’s as we don’t want to try and turn around or back out when there are kids around.

- Please ensure kids stay on the footpath or nature strip.

- The truck carrying Santa does not stop to avoid kids running out onto the road.

- If the truck carrying Santa does not leave some lollies, the supporting vehicles will. For those of you who provide us some “refreshments” and snacks, the supporting vehicles will collect these too (we say thank you In advance).

Below is the route. We start in Queanbeyan East, then head downtown around Queanbeyan Park, over to Crestwood, West Queanbeyan near the Racecouse, Karabar, Fairlane Estate, finishing off in the Cooma Street area.

Our members look forward to this event every year. We know many of you do too.

Merry Christmas to all.

Our thoughts are with the paramedic’s family, NSW Ambulance and other first responders at this time.

Our hearts are with the NSW Ambulance service following the shocking death of an on-duty paramedic in Sydney’s south today. We are thinking of the family, friends and colleagues of the dedicated first responder who will not go home tonight.

Occasionally we get the opportunity to assist training our new recruits at the Hume training centre, it is great to see them learn and develop valuable firefighting skills.
