Barnier Public School is a vibrant and rapidly growing school situated in Sydney’s North- West. The school’s philosophy is underpinned by the belief that schools are about children. Therefore, our school reflects this philosophy and seeks to replicate our students’ life which is immersed in technology. We have sought to develop a learning environment delivering the curriculum through technology. Our students benefit from an innovative teaching approach featuring an interactive whiteboard in every classroom and a student/computer ratio 2:1 across the entire school. This allows us to produce the ultimate, engaging learning environment for our students which maximises their life opportunities. We have for many years been the leader in this approach to teaching and learning. Our goal is to produce life-long learners and we believe this can only be achieved through developing a love of learning achieved through an engaging learning environment. The school is therefore committed to the use of technology in teaching and learning as this reflects our students’ everyday life and their future prospects for employment. Barnier staff are extremely innovative, enthusiastic and very dedicated. We constantly seek to respond to the changing needs of our students by adopting a research based approach to education based on modern, data-driven processes. We continually reflect on our practice and seek to constantly refine our methodology. Our school sets the benchmark for others.

What's happening in 4A....

4A had an incredible Science Day, packed with hands-on activities and lots of fun! Our students worked together to tackle STEM challenges, put their coding skills to the test with robotics, and used Minecraft to create amazing virtual worlds. It was inspiring to see so much teamwork, creativity, and problem solving throughout the day. We can’t wait to keep exploring, experimenting, and learning together!

What’s happening in 1A…

This week, 1A continued to explore the wonderful world of the five senses, with a special focus on smell and taste!

Our young scientists put their taste buds to the test by sampling a variety of foods and describing what they could taste. Was it sweet, salty, sour or bitter? 🍋🍫

Next, it was time to follow our noses! 👃 Students smelled different foods and used new descriptive vocabulary to explain the different aromas they discovered.

There were lots of curious faces, surprising reactions and wonderful conversations as students learned how our senses help us explore and understand the world around us. A fun, hands-on learning experience enjoyed by everyone! 🌟

🏃‍♂️ K-2 Athletics Carnival Recap! 🎉

What an incredible day filled with games, running, and lots of fun! Our K-2 Athletics Carnival was a huge success, and we couldn’t have done it without the amazing support of our teachers who made the day so special.

A big thank you to our student leaders for guiding everyone through the games and activities!
The enthusiastic cheers from our parents and loved ones, made all the difference!

It was a joy to watch our students compete, but seeing our parents and toddlers race, along with the fun teacher race, added an extra layer of excitement. What a fantastic carnival it was!

Here’s to more days of fun and community spirit! 🎊
