Based on yesterday's VEC vote count, it appears I have not been successful in my campaign for the Corangamite Shire elections. The results will be finalised, once final counts are completed, with official announcements set for next Thursday 7th.
While I am disappointed the results didn’t go my way, I am incredibly grateful for the experience I have had. From the start my goal was to offer a choice for the community, and I achieved this! I was motivated to contribute to this great region that we live in and though I won’t be on the Council, I will continue to work with local communities and in my other roles contributing to positive future of the Corangamite region.
I value and respect the democratic process and I have no regrets, and I am proud of the campaign we ran. It was a wonderful experience, meeting and talking with so many different members of our community. Thank you to everyone spoke to me and shared their thoughts, ideas and concerns with me. It has been great to see so much engagement, interest and passion for our region and its people.
I appreciate the incredible support and encouragement I have had from people of the Tandarook Ward and the broader Corangamite Shire, thank you.
Special thanks to my family and friends (new & old, near & far) who have supported me throughout. This has kept me grounded, positive and enabled me to stay focused on my goal, regardless of the outcome.
Congratulations to Jo Beard as she continues on for another 4 year term as our local Councillor. I admire Jo for her commitment and dedication to Council and I wish her all the best.
I am looking forward to seeing our region thrive and rest assured I will be continuing to support our community in every way I can.
Let’s keep working together
