⚠️ Town Beach and Coastal Walk safety update

Large swells over recent days, combined with more severe weather conditions forecast, have caused further impacts around Town Beach and sections of the Coastal Walk.

Following inspections, PMHC teams have identified movement and slippage near the Town Beach seawall and surrounding coastal areas.

To help keep the community safe, some access points to Town Beach have been temporarily closed while assessments continue.

We understand this is a well-loved part of our coastline and appreciate the community’s patience and cooperation during this time.

Please follow all signage and barriers in place and avoid entering closed areas.

Our teams will continue to monitor conditions closely and provide updates as more information becomes available.

129 new publicly accessible Shark Bite Trauma Kits will be installed at each of the state’s surf clubs. The trauma kits will be affixed to the external wall of each NSW surf club where, in the event of a reported shark incident, and in the absence of a lifesaver or lifeguard on duty, members of the public will be able to apply emergency first aid until first responders arrive on scene.

📢 Flynn’s Beach – Amenities upgrade

Improvement works are planned for the amenities at Flynn’s Beach, delivering upgraded and more accessible facilities for the community.

🛠️ Construction Timeline:
• Start Date: Early-mid April 2026
• Completion Date: Early July 2026
• Scheduling: Planned to avoid school holiday periods

Note: Timelines may vary depending on weather conditions

🚻 During construction the existing amenities will be closed. Temporary bathroom facilities will be available onsite to ensure continued access for beach users.

📢 Accessible beach matting reinstallation

The accessible beach matting at Town Beach will now be reinstalled on Monday 30 March following scheduled maintenance and forecast weather conditions over the weekend.

The matting improves access for people with mobility challenges, prams, and wheelchairs, making it easier for everyone to enjoy the coastline.

Community feedback on the accessible beach matting is now open and closes on Thursday 2 April, 5pm.
