Marine Rescue NSW is our State’s official volunteer marine rescue service, committed to saving lives on the water. Safety on the water is our highest priority – for both our volunteers and the boating public. Port Macquarie is one of 46 Units operating along the NSW coast. The Port Macquarie Unit started life as Sea Rescue and has been serving the local area since 1971.

🗺🧭Search and Rescue Training 🧭🗺

Last Saturday, ALPHA team got on the water to do some search and rescue training. 🛟
This involves calculating drift, and driving along a set search pattern. Which requires contant and clear communication between the navigator and the helmsman.🗨⚓️
The team also decided to do some bar crossing practice.🌊

🌊🎉Congratulations to our newest Skipper Bruce Lee 🎉🌊

Bruce has put in the hardwork and has passed his Coxswain (Skippers) assessment! We are happy to welcome him as our newest Skipper and sure he will do great!

This is a big achievement, and means he is trusted to be fully responsible for the vessel and its crew. 👏

✨️💙 Fundraising appreciation day. 💙✨️

Yesterday our fundraisers were treated to breakfast then a cruise up the river. 🌊

We also celebrated Jim turnbull who was awarded unit life membership for his many years in radio and fundraising.🏅

Thank you to all our fundraisers, the work you do is what allows our radios to operate and our vessels to perform rescues. Without your dedication we wouldnt be able to save lives on the water! 🛟🐋

Recently our newest rescue watercraft trainees have started their course!🧭

They have been out practicing their skills, and we are excited to watch them become rescue ready!🛟
