Lake Innes Ruins

Lake Innes Ruins Lake Innes Ruins The Innes Ruins house is one of the most historic sites in Australia. The house was built by convicts in several stages between 1831 and 1843.

It was built by Major Archibald Clunes Innes, an influential settler in what was to become New South Wales. Innes Ruins is managed by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service, who whilst needing to limit public access because the site is so fragile, would still like people to know more about this historic location, and increase access in as many ways as possible in the future.
