🐊 Happy World Croc Day! 🐊

Crocodiles have been part of the Australian landscape for millions of years, and today we celebrate these incredible ancient predators.

Despite their size, strength and reputation, crocodiles remain vulnerable to human activity. That’s why Wildlife Habitat and CaPTA are dedicated to promoting the importance of being croc wise in croc country.

Living alongside these giant reptiles requires education, awareness and understanding to help protect both our iconic wildlife and our communities.

Did you know?
🐊 Saltwater crocodiles are the largest living reptiles on Earth, with some individuals growing beyond 5 metres in length.
🥚 Every crocodile starts life as a tiny, vulnerable hatchling.
🌿 Only around 1 in 50 hatchlings will survive to adulthood, making every large adult crocodile a true survivor.

Come and meet our impressive saltwater and freshwater crocodiles and learn more about these remarkable animals and their important role in our environment.

🌿🐾 Looking for something fun, educational and a little bit wild these school holidays? 🐾🌿

Our Junior Keepers Program is back for Winter 2026, giving young animal lovers the chance to step behind the scenes and experience what it’s really like to care for wildlife!

Designed for children aged 8–14 years, this hands-on program is packed with exciting animal encounters, keeper activities, wildlife education and plenty of opportunities to get up close with some of our amazing resident animals.

Participants will learn about animal care, conservation, enrichment and what it takes to work as a wildlife keeper, all while making new friends and creating unforgettable holiday memories.

• Tuesday 30th June
• Wednesday 1st July
• Tuesday 7the July
• Wednesday 8th July
⏰ Time: 10am - 2pm
👧👦 Ages: 8–14 years
💲 Cost: $73 per child (includes lunch and afternoon tea)

Yesterday we had the pleasure of welcoming some IRONMAN in Cairns athletes to the park before they take on race day this weekend!

It was great to see competitors from all over taking some time to explore, unwind and meet some of our wildlife ahead of a huge weekend.

Good luck to everyone racing - we can’t wait to cheer you on and see all your hard work pay off!!

Please note we’ll be closing early at 3PM today due to a private function.

If you’re planning to visit, make sure you swing by earlier in the day for your wildlife fix — including the birds, crocs, kangaroos and cassowaries. 🐊✨
