Hi All!
Hope you are keeping well. Just a short note to let you know that if anyone happens to be available on
Sunday 14th March at 10am
we will be having a general tidy up/ working bee at the racecourse. Many hands make light work as they say so please bring a pair of gloves and pick up some sticks or a whipper snipper and do some trimming, or even better a
mower/ slasher and have a cruise around and tidy up the grassed areas for the travellers that stay often.
So many people have been visiting which is fantastic and enjoying the surroundings so lets continue on with the exceptional work that these community minded locals have already put in and make it even better for everyone to enjoy!
There will be a sausage sizzle for lunch to say thanks for a job well done. Everyone is most welcome to come and have a potter about. If you need any further information or cant make it on the day but still want to help out, feel free to message the page or get in touch with one of the friendly committee members. Special thanks to those who have been pitching in and helping out clean up around the racecourse reserve. The crew with the rideons, chainsaws and whipper snippers and slashers did a fantastic job! They are absolute troopers and cant be thanked enough. Its great to see travellers utilising the grounds again. Even if its only utilised by people with self contained vans at the moment. This week alone there has been visitors every day which has been excellent! And the bonus part is they are all enjoying the space and serenity. And it helps give us the drive to keep chipping away and making the racecourse beautiful again. There is still plenty of people who are very appreciative of the volunteers who chip in and help out. Thanks again team!

Just a quick shout out to anyone that is looking for somewhere to stay during the holidays.. they must be fully self contained but more than welcome to come and stay a night at The Port Albert Racecourse Rec Reserve.
There is plenty of room for the kids to run around or they can even jump on their bikes and go for a ride around the track. Toilets and showers have been closed due to covid regulations but if you have all you need with you then it doesnt matter. Dogs are permitted so long as they are on leads at all times.
But please remember to take your rubbish with you when you leave, check the fire ready app for restrictions in our area, if you have a fire pit please use it just to be on the safe side and its probably not a great idea to park up under a tree on a windy day. We will graciously accept a gold coin donation to help pay for the fuel for the lawnmowers and dont forget to sign the visitors book in the old ticket box.
