Got a project that could improve how Australia’s marine parks are managed?

Round 5 of the Our Marine Parks Grants is open, with grants of $50,000 to $500,000 available.

The funding could suit projects involving Sea Country, marine conservation, research, tourism, fishing, community participation or other work that improves the management and understanding of Australian Marine Parks.

Applications close 27 October 2026.

There’s also free application support available through Parks Australia, including recorded seminars and one-on-one support, so it is worth using that before you get too far into an application.

Five WA farming businesses we worked with have just secured more than $1.2 million for projects that will make a real difference to how their farms operate.

The funding will help them expand feedlots, build and improve sheep confinement systems, and invest in on-farm finishing infrastructure across the Wheatbelt and Great Southern.

These are multi-generational farming families working through a difficult period for the sheep industry. The new infrastructure will help make their businesses more productive, resilient and efficient, and give them more options for the future.

We worked with all five successful applicants on their grant applications, and we are VERY happy to see $1,200,910.14 heading towards projects they have worked hard to make happen.

Congratulations to all five families.

Now we get to watch the projects become real.

Has your school or organisation been talking about bringing artists or creative practitioners into the classroom, but finding the money has been the difficult part?

WA’s Creative Learning Collaborations program is offering grants of up to $60,000 for projects that connect schools with artists and creatives.

The funding can support things such as artists working in classrooms, creative workshops and programs, teacher professional development and other projects that use creative practice to help students learn across the curriculum.

Schools can apply, along with eligible WA arts and cultural organisations, creative practitioners, local governments and not-for-profit community organisations. The grant can cover up to 80% of project costs, with the remaining contribution coming from cash or in-kind support.

Applications close at 4pm AWST on 15 October 2026, and applicants who want CITS to review a draft need to request that by 4pm AWST on 1 October.

Do you have a community project that could help protect the Great Barrier Reef?

There’s up to $7.538 million available through Round 2 of the Protecting the Great Barrier Reef – Community Stewardship Program.

The funding is for communities, Traditional Owners and organisations working together on projects that improve the health and resilience of the Reef.

That could include work addressing poor water quality, coastal development, climate change and other threats to Reef species and habitats.

If you are applying, pay attention to the phrase in the guidelines that asks for projects that “measurably improve.”

So, if you’re considering applying, be ready to show the environmental change your project will create, rather than simply describing the activities you want to deliver.

Applications close 9:00pm AEDT, 6 October 2026.

Does your committee have a project that seems to come back at EVERY meeting?

New lights, irrigation, better facilities, a new vehicle...

Something everyone agrees would make a difference, but the money keeps pushing it to “later”.

We’ve helped sporting and community organisations secure funding for exactly these kinds of projects.

So if money is the main reason yours has been sitting there for years, it is worth checking what funding might be available before it gets carried into next year’s plan as well.

Someone still has to do the work to get it funded, of course. But first, stop assuming your organisation has to pay for the whole thing itself.

Lucky enough to have a remote airstrip?

Does you have any upgrades in mind that need funding?

Round 12 of the Remote Airstrip Upgrade Program is open, with grants from $5,000 to $4 million for projects that improve the safety and accessibility of airstrips in remote and very remote Australia.

Funding can cover things like runway repairs and sealing, drainage, fencing, lighting, navigational aids, ambulance shelters and disability access improvements.

Most projects can receive up to 50% of eligible costs, while Indigenous Owned and/or Operated Aerodromes may be eligible for up to 100%.

But check your funding mix early. If a third party is also contributing to eligible project costs, the Australian Government contribution may drop to one-third.

Applications close 5:00pm AEDT, 6 October 2026.

Are you planning a sizeable equipment purchase or business upgrade in the next 12 months?

If so, check the funding landscape before you commit the spend.

We’ve worked on successful funding applications for business expansions, new equipment, vehicle upgrades, technology, electrical works and new facilities.

The things the businesses were already planning to spend money on.

Who knows, there may be no funding out there suitable for your next big business project, but it's MUCH better to find that out now, while you still have options.

Don't wait until after the invoice for your new gear has been paid.

If something expensive is sitting in next year’s budget, add “check grants” to the planning list now.

AFL clubs, schools and councils in NSW... do you have a facility project sitting on the wish list?

Round 2 of the AFL New South Wales Facilities Fund is now open, with up to $50,000 available per project to improve community football facilities.

Funding can go towards things like changerooms, lighting, playing surfaces, drainage and irrigation, new ovals and amenities, climate-resilience works and upgrades to multi-use facilities where football is a key user.

A couple of things to know before you dive in:

The grant request should generally be no more than 10% of the total project cost.

A co-contribution isn’t compulsory, but other financial and in-kind contributions are viewed favourably.

Equipment purchases, routine maintenance and projects that have already started aren’t eligible.

And a whopping 50% of the assessment is about what your project will achieve, including how it will increase participation and improve access.

So this is one where having a good building project alone isn’t enough. You need to make the case for what that facility will make possible.

Own or operate a dedicated live music venue in NSW?

This grant is worth a look.

Sound NSW has opened its Infrastructure and Equipment grants, with funding of up to $150,000 for equipment and infrastructure upgrades or up to $300,000 for high-end audiovisual and advanced lighting technology.

That could include things like sound and lighting equipment, staging, soundproofing, accessibility improvements, ventilation, energy-efficiency works, LED video walls, projection systems and intelligent lighting.

Applicants need to contribute at least 30% of the project budget, and this one has a two-stage application process, starting with an Expression of Interest.

And check the eligibility carefully because it really is aimed at dedicated live music venues, with specific requirements around how often you program live music and the type of music you program.

EOIs close at 2pm on 28 September 2026.

Manufacturers of Australia... if any part of your line still runs on gas or solvents, whether that is coating, drying, steam or melting, there is money right now to get it updated.

The SME Industrial Decarbonisation Fund has 3 objectives, and is offering $200,000 to $500,000 towards projects to update surface treatment, process steam and metals processing.

And it covers more than the equipment: power supply upgrades, staff training and compliance costs can all sit inside the project.

You need to fund up to 50% of eligible costs.

Applications are open until 31 December 2027, or until the pool is fully allocated - THIS IS IMPORTANT!

There is only $10 million available and it is assessed first come, first served. So, at $500,000 a project, as few as 20 businesses get it and then it is done.

The ones who miss out on a rolling program like this are usually the ones who took too long to get organised.
