Although, like everybody else, we are facing enormous increases in many of our expenses we are committed to holding our present admission prices for as long as we can.

Right through the Easter holidays there will be no surcharges, no levies and no reduction in services at the Darling Downs Zoo.

And now is a great time to visit. The days are cooler and we have had an “end of summer” baby boom! Baby Capybara, Baboons, Llama, Lizards, Cotton-top Tamarin, Quokka, Kangaroos and Wallabies are all waiting to meet you!

Our renowned sausage sizzle has returned just in time for Australia Day!

Just $3.50 per serve.

Fresh off the barbecue each day between midday and 1.30.

Your choice of tomato sauce, barbecue sauce, mustard or all three! Add onions for just 50 cents extra.

Our animals are extremely grateful to all whom have given us their Christmas Trees - but please no more!

We have been so overwhelmed with trees that even our reptiles have had the chance to enjoy investigating them. It has been wonderful to watch the different reactions from all the animals.

Thankyou again to everyone who’s kindly donated their tree.

Just in time for the holidays, we have finally got our kitchen approved and running, meaning we are now selling hot chips!

We have hot chips in both regular and large, as well as a pack of chicken nuggets and chips as seen in the photo. These are sold from 11:30 AM every day.

Now that Santa has been and gone what are you going to do with your Christmas tree?

Used real living Christmas trees (not plastic/store bought) are wonderful enrichment items for our animals and we would love to get them some.

If you arrive at the zoo with a Christmas tree for us any day up until January 11, we will swap you for a free adult entry for the tree.

It was great to have Ben Hunt and his beautiful family visit the zoo on Sunday. We had a great time catching up with them and hope to see them again.
