Hospitality businesses, new seafood labelling requirements are coming into effect from 1 July 2026 🦐🐟

If you sell ready-to-eat seafood dishes for dine-in, takeaway or delivery, you’ll need to clearly display the seafood’s country of origin using:
▪️️ (A) Australian
▪️ (I) Imported
▪️(M) Mixed origin

These new requirements under Australian Consumer Law help customers make informed choices and apply to restaurants, cafés, pubs, clubs, food trucks and more.

Now is the time to prepare your menus, signage and ordering systems ahead of the deadline.

Your Google Business Profile is now one of your most critical digital assets.

Of everything you can do for AI search visibility, your Google Business Profile has one of the highest impacts.

Why? Because your profile is a structured, machine-readable record of your business that feeds straight into Google’s AI. It is free, and for most tourism operators it is the single highest-return hour you can spend this month.

Your photos, reviews, opening hours, categories, services and business description all help Google understand what you offer and when to show your business in AI-powered search results.

A half-finished profile is like putting up a shop sign with half the letters missing. Not ideal, and slightly tragic.

So here’s your task for this week: check your Google Business Profile is complete, accurate and up to date.

Add recent photos. Reply to reviews. Check your opening hours. Update your services. Make sure your key details are spot on.

Want help doing it properly?

Our Google Business Profile course walks through every field and is included in our AI Enablement Plans. You’ll also get access to fortnightly group coaching calls, so you can ask questions, get expert guidance and know what to tackle next.
