His diverse background, having grown up in Malaysia with North Indian heritage, educated in the UK, and married to an Indonesian, has instilled in him a strong appreciation for different cultures and backgrounds. Manveerโs Key Priorities :
1. Bringing Diversity within Lake Ward Community: I believe in celebrating and embracing the diversity within Lake Ward. There are opportunities to foster closer cultural exchange and integration through events such as the Harmony Day Festival, which provides a platform to showcase the rich heritage of different communities and foster a sense of belonging.
2. Balancing Rates vs Investment within the Community: I understand the importance of finding the right balance between rates and investments. I will strive to ensure responsible fiscal management through the allocation of resources to essential services and infrastructure projects that benefit the entire community.
3. Improving Efficiency and Reducing Wasteful Spending: I aim to enhance the efficiency of council operations and reduce unnecessary expenditure by streamlining council operations, eliminating wasteful expenditure and maintaining effective essential services.
4. Prioritizing Spending and Reviewing Services for Effectiveness: I recognize the need to prioritize spending on services that have a direct and positive impact on the community. This can be achieved by allocating resources to programs with the greatest community impact and regularly reviewing service effectiveness to address evolving needs.
5. Engaging the Community in the Decision-Making Process: I strongly believe in participatory democracy and involving the community in decision-making, especially on issues that have a direct impact on them. I aim to provide more opportunities to actively involve residents through town hall meetings and open dialogues to ensure their voices shape local policies and projects. I am seeking your local Vote to bring about positive change, foster diversity, and strengthen community bonds in Lake Ward. With My passion, cultural understanding, and commitment to inclusive governance, I will work tirelessly to make Lake Ward an even better place to live and thrive.
