Piara Waters Senior High School's Specialist Soccer Program for Year 9 and 10 students has launched its 2026 Intermediate Pennants Cup campaign with an impressive unbeaten start. The team kicked off the season with a bye win in Round 1, followed by a thrilling 6-4 victory over Kalamunda Senior High School in Round 2, and a hard-won 3-2 home win against Al-Ameen College in Round 3.
Nathan's dynamic performance in Round 2 earned him the Man of the Match award, while Ansh's exceptional goalkeeping in Round 3 garnered similar recognition.

Throughout the season, the students have demonstrated outstanding teamwork, resilience, and sportsmanship, upholding the school's values. The program expresses its sincere gratitude to parents, families, and students for their enthusiastic support, which has significantly enhanced the team's morale. Special appreciation is extended to Leni Masibaka, Physical Education teacher, for volunteering her time to umpire and support the team.

As the team prepares for the Round 4 match against Cannington Community College, it remains focused on maintaining its unbeaten record and top ladder position. Go Piara! ⚽️🥅

Psychology students recently participated in the Mind Games incursion run by an external provider. During the interactive session, students explored the connection between sensation and perception by analyzing visual images. They also tested their cognitive processing speed using the Stroop effect—comparing how long it took to read colour words when the ink colour matched versus when it mismatched. Additionally, the incursion introduced students to key psychological concepts, including priming, colour perception, and change blindness.
