As in October continues, we’re reminded that at On My Feet, taking care of ourselves isn’t limited to one month—or just physical movement. While running and walking get us moving, our core mission is about holistic well-being, building a deep sense of belonging, nurturing community, and prioritizing mental health every single day.
To highlight this commitment, we officially launched our new Men’s Empowerment Program with a powerful first workshop led by the wonderful Lorna Stewart from Oakwood Inspirational.
As our Health Promotions Manager, Kathleen Mc Quaide, shared:
"Lorna & Jane have been so generous with their commitment & time dedicated to OMF over the years. How lucky we are to have experts being so willing to walk with us."
We are deeply grateful for Lorna and Jane’s ongoing partnership and dedication. Having their expertise alongside our community makes a world of difference!
During the session, participants explored practical tools for overcoming mental roadblocks.
Key takeaways included learning how to:
🎬Reframe Mindsets: Recognizing that while we can't always control external circumstances, changing our perspective can completely shift how we feel and open up new possibilities.
🛑 Challenge Limiting Beliefs: Catching negative "brake thoughts" in the act and asking whether they are hard facts or just stories we tell ourselves.
🛗 Reset & Shift Energy: Using physical movement and changing our immediate surroundings to clear the mind, gain perspective, and reach out for support when needed.
A massive thank you to Lorna and Jane for bringing so much heart and generosity to this launch. Mental Health Month momentum is strong, and our dedication to mental well-being, community, and walking alongside each other continues every day of the year!
