Some moments are just incredibly special. 💛
When we interviewed our client, Jacinta, for our '25 Stories for 25 Years' project, she proudly brought along a Certificate of Recognition she and her late husband, Jose, had received from Dale Alcock in 1994.
Jacinta and Jose spent many years working together as floor and wall tilers across WA. At a time when very few women were working in the trade, Jacinta built a career alongside her husband through hard work, skill and determination - and the recognition they received all those years ago had clearly never lost its meaning.
So we decided to see if we could create a little surprise.
We reached out to Dale Alcock and shared Jacinta’s story, never quite knowing what might come of it. Dale not only remembered Jacinta and Jose, but spoke warmly of the quality of their work, their reliability and the contribution they made over many years.
He then very generously recorded a personal video message for Jacinta as a mark of respect and gratitude.
And this was her reaction. 🥹❤️
To see Jacinta realise that, more than 30 years later, her work and contribution were still remembered was something incredibly special.
A huge thank you to Dale Alcock for taking the time to make this moment possible and for treating Jacinta and Jose’s story with such warmth and respect.
This is exactly why storytelling matters - because the lives, achievements and contributions of older people deserve to be remembered, celebrated and heard. ☂️
