A hidden leak can become a serious problem when it involves a fire protection system. 💧🔥

Following tracer gas leak detection, PMP Fire identified multiple leaks within underground sprinkler supply pipework.

Our team carefully excavated the affected area, replaced the defective section, and completed pressure testing, flushing and recommissioning before returning the sprinkler system to operational service.

From locating the issue to completing the repair and final testing, the project was completed with a focus on restoring the system safely while minimising disruption to the site.

One of the simplest observations during a fire water tank inspection can also be one of the most useful:

💧 Is the water level where it should be — and is it staying there?

A practical inspection should look beyond the gauge or level indicator and consider the overall condition of the tank and its components, including:

☑ Water level and any unexplained changes
☑ Tank walls, fittings and visible signs of leakage
☑ Valve operation and condition
☑ Liner condition where applicable
☑ Corrosion, staining or mineral build-up
☑ Any evidence of ongoing water loss

A good inspection goes beyond simply recording a level.

A great effort by the team and another project completed safely 🤩💯

Our team recently removed a faulty double diesel fire hydrant pump set that was no longer capable of meeting the required flow performance.

Using a Hiab truck, the heavy pump set was safely lifted and removed with careful planning and precision. To minimise disruption to residents, the work was scheduled during the early hours of the morning, allowing the operation to be completed with minimal impact.
