Faction Carnival 2026!

What a fantastic few days of sport, teamwork and school spirit! Our students gave their all at last Friday’s Faction Carnival, as well as Wednesday’s Jumps, Throws & Distance events. We are so proud of everyone’s effort and sportsmanship!

A huge congratulations to Karak Faction on taking out the overall win! 🏆🎉

Congratulations also to all our Champion Girls, Champion Boys and Runners-Up — what an amazing achievement! 👏

A very special thank you to our amazing Sports Teacher, Miss Newlands, for putting so much time, effort and passion into organising such a fantastic carnival. Your hard work made the day such a huge success, and we are so grateful for everything you do for our students!

A big thank you to our Edney P&C for the sausage sizzle and our Year 6 students for running the cake stall.

We are also incredibly grateful to The Bearded Butcher High Wycombe, Stephen Price MLA, Woolworths Kalamunda and Coles High Wycombe for their generous sausage sizzle donations.

A special thank you also to Nightingales Pharmacy & Newsagency Kalamunda, Cellarbrations Maida Vale and the Edney P&C for generously donating prizes for the P&C Raffle.

We are excited to invite families of students in Kindergarten, Pre-Primary, Year 1 and Year 2 to join us for a special afternoon of mathematics fun and learning together on Thursday 17 September.

The afternoon will begin with a short parent session in the library, where we will share practical and easy ways to support your child's mathematics learning at home. Families will then head to classrooms to play engaging maths games and activities alongside their children.

You do not need to be a "maths expert" to attend. The session is designed to provide simple, practical ideas that can be easily used at home. We encourage all families of Kindergarten, Pre-Primary, Year 1 and Year 2 students to attend and look forward to sharing this learning experience with you. Please register by scanning the QR code. All families will also receive a take-home pack to support mathematics at home.

📚🎶 Room 10 Book Week Assembly! 🎶📚

Room 10 had a wonderful Book Week celebration! We started the week with a fun book tasting, exploring a variety of genres and completing book reviews. On Tuesday, we were lucky to have Mrs Heather-Sophia Thomson visit our classroom to read her book Betty’s Big Day Out.

We also enjoyed our Book Week costume parade and finished the week by performing an adapted version of “I Am a Music Man”, with a special Book Week twist! 📖🎵

Last week, Edney Primary School came alive with the magic of books as we celebrated Book Week with the theme “Symphony of Stories.”
From colourful costumes to favourite characters and stories, our students showed how every book adds its own special note to the wonderful symphony of reading. 📖✨

Year 1 & 2 SciTech Excursion! 🚀🔬

Our Year 1 and 2 students had a fabulous day at SciTech, exploring the exciting world of science with our expert guide, Ben!

Students enjoyed the Spring Loaded science show, discovering how springs store and transfer energy through lots of fun demonstrations.
They then journeyed through space in the Planetarium, learning about the planets and constellations before exploring the interactive exhibits and completing a fun science scavenger hunt.

A huge thank you to our wonderful parent helpers for giving up their time to support our students and make the day so special.

We are also incredibly proud of our students, who represented Edney Primary School so well. Their excellent behaviour, enthusiasm, curiosity and respect throughout the day were fantastic to see!

Week 6 at Edney Primary School!

📚 Monday–Wednesday: The Library will be open before and after school for families to visit the Book Fair.

📚 Tuesday 25 August:
EC3/EC4 M/T Kindy students will dress up for Book Week, with a morning parade that parents are welcome to attend.

📚 Wednesday 26 August:
Kindy EC4 TH/F–Year 6 students will dress up, followed by a morning parade. Parents are welcome to stay and watch!

🎤 Thursday 27 August:
Room 10 will be presenting their assembly.

🎨 Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday:
The Art Room will be open after school, showcasing amazing student artwork from Kindy to Year 6. Come along and have a look!

🚫 Please note: There will be no STEAM Club on Thursday 27 August after school.

We look forward to a fun-filled week of books, creativity and celebration!
