History comes to life this Sunday at Tocal Homestead!

Ever wondered how electricity first came to Tocal Homestead? ⚡

Hidden away in the brick stables behind the Homestead is a fascinating piece of our history!

Back in 1927, a Lister generator was installed to bring electricity to the property, with the adjoining stable converted to house 60 batteries to store power.

Now restored to working order thanks to Mr Gordon Johnson and members of the Hunter Valley Farm Machinery Club, our valued Friends of Tocal volunteer, Colin Johnson, will be firing it up this Sunday!

Come along and discover what life was like before electricity was as simple as flicking a switch!

* Historic Self guided Homestead tours

* Our beautiful Blacket Barn will also be buzzing with creativity, with a fully booked floral workshop by Ela Flora taking place.

Tocal Community Pool is OPEN today!

Summer has arrived at Tocal! Come along, cool off and enjoy the pool with family and friends.

For more than 40 years, the pool has given local families and residents a place to swim, connect and enjoy the warmer months.

Tocal Community Pool season passes for 2026/27 are now available.

With the weather getting warmer, it is nearly time to enjoy the Tocal Community Pool again. For more than 40 years, the pool has given local families and residents a place to swim, connect and enjoy the warmer months.

The pool will open on Saturday 3 October 2026 and remain open through to Sunday 25 April 2027.

Season passes are limited and available to members of the local community. Applications will close once capacity is reached.

Looking for a family day out?

Bring the kids, pack a picnic and head to Tocal Homestead this Sunday 10am – 3pm.

Let the kids discover the stories of the past with a hand-held audio guide as you wander through the Homestead and the outbuildings. You can explore at your pace, see our farm animals and enjoy the great outdoors.

Got plans, can’t stay all day, just pop in for barista made coffee and fresh scones!
