Water Safety NT Water activities are a great part of the Territory lifestyle. To keep people safe in and around water, all Territorians need to be water safety wise.

Water Safety initiatives of the Northern Territory Government include:

πŸ›ŸStrengthening Water Safety Across the Territory

The Northern Territory Water Safety Advisory Council meets quarterly to drive action under the NT Water Safety Strategy 2030.

Bringing together government and non-government organisations, the Council provides leadership, shares expertise, monitors progress, and identifies priorities to improve water safety outcomes for all Territorians.

The Council also provides important advice and recommendations to the Minister, helping shape future water safety policy and investment across the Territory.

Thank you to all members for their ongoing commitment to preventing drowning and creating safer communities.

πŸŽ₯ WATCH NOW | GSPO for Swim Schools Webinar

The Guidelines for Safe Pool Operation (GSPO) are recognised as one of the aquatic industry’s key safety benchmarks but understanding how they apply in day-to-day swim school operations can sometimes feel overwhelming.

In this recorded webinar, Marty Moran from Royal Life Saving Society - Australia breaks down the GSPO into practical, easy-to-understand guidance for swim school owners, managers, teachers and aquatic professionals.

βœ”οΈ Child safety
βœ”οΈ Aquatic supervision
βœ”οΈ Emergency planning
βœ”οΈ Risk management
βœ”οΈ Staff training + qualifications
βœ”οΈ Safe diving and unique water spaces

Plus, members receive access to a specially developed GSPO resource to help simplify and apply the guidelines in your facility.

Watch now and strengthen safety, compliance and confidence across your swim school. πŸ’™

In other parts of Australia you might have a friendly neighbourhood dog... here in the Top End we have friendly neighbourhood crocs... We wouldn't recommend having a swim with him though 🐊
