farm gates, open to welcome you for a private weekend getaway or quality family time with your kids. Children are very welcome and will love wandering around the property feeding the chickens and ducks, patting the ponies, watching the antics of “Rachel Goat” and playing on the swings and trampoline. A pier sitting out over the dam is perfect for the kids to try their luck with a yabbie net and with its beautiful paved stonework and uninterrupted views into the bush the pool area is a great place to relax during the warmer weather. Barking Owl cottage offers 2 queen size bedrooms and comfortably sleeps 4 people. With a modern kitchen, 2 flat screen TV’s, Blu-ray and DVD, free Wi-Fi, A/C, private courtyard and outdoor bbq we offer all the comforts of home in the tranquility of the country. We are positioned perfectly to enjoy the wildlife and native bird life on our own property, or to provide a base to explore the Yarra Valley wineries, restaurants and local towns. If our local mob of grazing kangaroos leaves you wanting more then Healesville Sanctuary is not far! A five minute drive up the road and you can enjoy the colour and flavours of the famous St Andrews market on Saturday mornings (open from 6am to 2pm) where free range and organic food is the standard. And a drive to the Yarra Valley Chocolatiery in Yarra Glen offers its own taste of heaven for ice cream and chocolate lovers. Local trail rides are available for the adventurous, as well as balloon rides for those not frightened of an early morning wake-up call. If you choose to abandon the car keys for the weekend, there are walking tracks from the cottage door that weave their way through the Panton Hill bushland reserves that we’re so proud of. See horse riders and mountain bike riders making the most of a beautiful environment. Our focus is to provide a warm, comfortable and relaxing environment for our guests. A platter of fresh local produce is delivered to your door on arrival and the clean country air is abundant and free! Our guest cottage is set apart from the main house with its own private access and you can do as much or as little as you like.
