Health Advisory Councils are a valuable connection between the Local Health Network and our communities.

By connecting with local people, they gain an understanding of healthcare needs and priorities unique to their communities. Through regular engagement with their local health service, they share these insights and advocate for what is most important for their community.

For the benefit their community, members generously volunteer their time, skills and knowledge. Health Advisory Council members can include residents, local Council representatives, Members of Parliament, GP/medical clinic staff, and health network staff representatives.

There are seven Health Advisory Councils located throughout the Limestone Coast, and over 60 local members. We thank each of them for their valuable contributions, helping to improve local healthcare in this region.

We thank the community for their patience and understanding while these important redevelopment works are completed

As the redevelopment of Naracoorte Hospital continues, we wish to advise the community of a temporary closure of one of the corridors between 14 - 24 August 2026.
There will be no impact to services, and all areas will remain open. There will be a detour in place, and clear signage to direct people walking through to the Acute, Maternity, Emergency Department (ED) and Theatre areas.
๐Ÿฅ Entry to the hospital will not change
๐Ÿชง Once inside, please follow the detour signs
๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ If you need guidance, speak with our friendly staff
Community members should continue present to the hospital for emergency care as needed, and visitors are welcome.
We thank the community for their patience and understanding while these important redevelopment works are completed

The Naracoorte Area Health Advisory Council is incredibly grateful to the Naracoorte Men's Cancer Support Group for their generous $1,000 donation towards the purchase of a new Chemotherapy Chair for Naracoorte Health Service.

This wonderful contribution will help enhance the comfort and care of local patients receiving chemotherapy, ensuring they can access high-quality treatment closer to home.

A sincere thank you to the Naracoorte Men's Cancer Support Group for their ongoing generosity and commitment to supporting local healthcare. Community support such as this plays an important role in helping improve services and patient experiences across our region.

Pictured is Robin Day, Executive Officer/Director of Nursing and Midwifery, accepting the donation from Graham Hinze, Secretary of the Naracoorte Men's Cancer Support Group.
