Weโve seen our Year 7 Food Technology students get creative in the kitchen before, but this time it was Mr Johnsonโs class taking on the challenge!
As part of their Healthy Burger Assessment, students put their food preparation, cooking and design skills to the test โ planning and creating their own burger with nutrition, flavour, texture and presentation all in mind.
From safe food handling and kitchen hygiene to measuring, knife skills, preparing fresh ingredients, cooking techniques and time management, there was plenty more involved than simply building a great burger!
The assessment gave students the opportunity to take their ideas from the design stage into the kitchen, working with increasing confidence, independence and teamwork along the way.
And the final results? Some seriously impressive burgers that showcased just how much these young chefs have developed throughout the term.
Great work, Mr Johnsonโs class!
