Disappointed, our area is looking sad!
On the long weekend I took some time to drive and inspect the presentation of our area.
Customer Requests have been sent to the City of Playford for action, noting we have a ten days turnaround policy for illegal dumping. Please let me know if you see these items past ten days.
I raised a number of questions without notice, at the Ordinary Council meeting. My main concern being that I feel our city presentation is lapsing, and I’m seeking answers.
There needs to be a better answer for illegal dumping that costs us, the ratepayers in excess of a million dollars per annum.
We also need better internal reporting. Not my job is not good enough!
I will continue to advocate to improve our City (residential and rural) areas.

Please report concerns and issues in the Playford area, to the City of Playford.
If these are not reported, the presentation of our area sadly suffers. Today, while in Craigmore, I made a number of reports to the customer service team.
Hopefullythese will be resolved shortly.
Please help me and report what you see ensuring our area is well maintained.
Thank you to all the residents that do report matters to the City of Playford and I’ll continue to advocate for better internal reporting.
I hope everyone has a positive and enjoyable day.

It was the 2017 Rate Review Policy that proposed significant rate rises to a large number of ratepayers that raised my attention to the operation and business of the City of Playford. I chose to take action along with many others and represent the community. In the process we revealed many concerns relating to the debt levels, massive spending and spending plans, the sale of community assets without consultation, the lack of transparency and concerns with accountability.
I was concerned with how some of the elected members were representing the ratepayers and believed we needed a change of representation. As a result I chose to take action and run in the 2018 City of Playford Council elections as a candidate for Ward 3. I would like to say thank you to all the residents that supported me and saw me elected. It is with dedication that I will continue to do my best to listen and represent the residents and ratepayers of the City of Playford.
It has been an interesting and at times challenging 15 months since being elected with many tough decisions to be made. I will continue to focus on responsible spending, robust business plans, accountability and service delivery, limiting and reducing debt exposure and applying downwards pressure on rates.
As a growth city we have many challenges and growing pains ahead. It is imperative that we have a strong and robust business plan. I have been advocating behind the scenes for improvement and change. I am pleased to say under the leadership of our new CEO, Sam Green many of these discussions are taking place.
It is refreshing to see the elected members working constructively together to best serve the City of Playford. While the elected members may have different views and priorities, it is my opinion that a strong business plan and sound financials are the key for the City of Playford.
I will continue to do my best to serve the community of Playford.
