🥤➡️♻️ 40 new CDS baskets have landed in Whitehorse!

We've added 40 more CDS recycling baskets across Whitehorse, bringing the total number of baskets to 50 and making it even easier to recycle eligible drink containers while you're out and about. 🎉

Simply pop your empty container (look for the 10c mark) into a CDS basket instead of the bin. Someone else can then collect it and return it for a refund through the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme. It's a simple way to reduce litter, keep valuable materials out of landfill and support our community.

Since launching earlier this year, the baskets have been helping residents recycle on the go. With 40 new locations now installed, you'll be spotting them in shopping strips, parks, community hubs and activity centres right across Whitehorse.

💚 Every container recycled is a win for our streets, parks and waterways.

Find a basket near you and keep the cycle going.

🎤Join our BIG sing-a-long at Whitehorse Spring Festival!

Whitehorse City Council’s Positive Ageing Team, in partnership with Creativity Australia, invites you to join Whitehorse One Voice 2026—a free community music project celebrating connection, creativity and inclusion.

This year culminates in a mass choir performance at the Whitehorse Spring Festival on Sunday 18 October at The Round. Our goal is to bring together 500 singers, dancers and instrumentalists of all ages and backgrounds.

In the lead-up, participants will receive rehearsal resources and opportunities to join group rehearsals. Registration is encouraged for all groups, whether you plan to perform at the Spring Festival or simply take part by learning and sharing the song within your own community.
