🚨Chainsaw Training 🚨

On the weekend trainers from the Shoalhaven travelled to Moruya to deliver the Eurobodalla Chainsaw course, 6 learners from Bateman’s Bay and Moruya undertook the training making sure the units are ready for this coming storm season.

🚨Tree blocking Road🚨

Early this morning volunteers from the Nowra unit got called out to a large tree blocking Gerroa Rd, The crew worked well to clear the road to ensure the early morning traffic could flow between Nowra and Gerroa. The coffee made it worth the early wake up.

🚨💛 A Busy and Rewarding Week for NSW SES Nowra Unit! 💛🚨

Our volunteers have been hard at work this week, taking part in training, operations and essential fleet maintenance to ensure we're ready to support our community when needed.

🥾 Fit for Role Hike
Members completed a fit-for-role hike, building operational fitness, resilience and teamwork. Staying physically prepared helps our volunteers respond safely and effectively in challenging conditions.

🌬️ Chainsaw Operations in Windy Weather
With windy conditions across the region, crews attended chainsaw jobs to safely remove fallen trees and branches, helping protect properties and keep roads accessible for the community.

👨‍🏫 Field Team Leader Training
Several members continued developing their leadership skills through Field Team Leader training, gaining the knowledge and confidence required to lead crews safely and effectively during emergency operations.

🚙🚤 Annual Vehicle and Vessel Registration Checks
Behind every response is a fleet that's ready to go. Volunteers managed annual registration and compliance checks on our vehicles and vessels, ensuring they're maintained and prepared for deployment whenever required.

👏 A big thank you to our dedicated volunteers for their ongoing commitment, professionalism and teamwork. Whether it's training, maintenance or responding to incidents, every contribution helps keep the Shoalhaven community safer.

🧡 Member Recognition 🧡

Last week we celebrated the great achievements and milestones of our incredible volunteers, Awards for 5,10&15 yrs of service to our community, along with the Premiers Citations and a Unit Citation for service during the 2019-2020 Bushfires.

The National Emergency Medal was awarded to two members for outstanding service to our Community.

This week we celebrated the milestones that matter, John and Geoff have seen it all in Nowra and been there every step of the way helping our community, an impressive 30yrs of service between them.
