This week we celebrated the milestones that matter, John and Geoff have seen it all in Nowra and been there every step of the way helping our community, an impressive 30yrs of service between them.

We also celebrated Taz and her five years of dedication to our Unit, and it wouldn’t be a celebration without cake, Happy Birthday Jo🎂🎂

🚨 Attention Nowra 🚨

The BOM has issued a severe weather warning for our area, please ensure you secure all backyard items and stay safe !

A Severe Weather Warning for DAMAGING WINDS has been issued by the Bureau of Meteorology 🍃

Residents in parts of the Illawarra and parts of Mid North Coast, South Coast, Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands, Snowy Mountains, Northern Tablelands and Hunter Forecast Districts should monitor conditions and follow safety advice.

Damaging winds are continuing about the Southern and Central Tablelands and Southern Highlands, extending to the northern ranges and the Illawarra coast this evening.

Winds are expected to ease about the Southern and Central Tablelands and Illawarra early Friday morning, and the remainder of the warning area by late Friday morning.

Stay safe and prepared:
🔸 Move your car under cover or away from trees and powerlines if safe to do so.
🔸 Tie down loose items in your yard.

🔸 Report fallen power lines to either Ausgrid (131 388), Endeavour Energy (131 003), Essential Energy (132 080) or Evoenergy (131 093) as shown on your power bill.

🧡 What a Week 🧡

This week Nowra SES sure had many highs and a low, We celebrated the hard work
of our volunteers with a large number of new qualifications to our unit, Chainsaw, High Clearance Vehicle, Land Search and Storm and Water Operators all got added to the ranks this week.

Paul received his Flood and Unit Citations for his outstanding service to our community, along with a National Medal. Congratulations well deserved.

This week we also farewelled our much loved Unit Commander, Jo has spent an impressive 20yrs serving her community with the last 6 yrs guiding our unit though the many storms and floods that have impacted our region.

From the entire Nowra Unit, Thank You🧡 , Jo will still be a valued member of our unit for many years to come.
