Entries are closing soon for the Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition!

There’s still time for local Kindergarten to Year 6 students to get creative and submit an original Christmas artwork for their chance to have their design featured on the Mayor’s official Christmas cards.

There are first, second and third place prizes for each year level, plus an Overall Winner. Winning artworks will feature on the Mayor’s official Christmas cards, with the Overall Winner’s artwork also appearing on the cover of the December edition of Look East.

Whether it’s a traditional Christmas scene, an Aussie Christmas, a magical adventure or something completely unexpected, we want to see their festive creativity.

Entries close at 5pm on Monday 21 September.

Our libraries have thermal imaging cameras available to borrow. These devices can help you identify energy leaks and hidden heat patterns, including areas where your home may be losing heat.

Use the information to make more informed decisions about insulation, sealing and energy consumption.

Thermal cameras are available to borrow from Norwood Library, St Peters Library and Payneham Library.

Calling artists, come and exhibit with us in 2027.

We are inviting expressions of interest from artists to be part of our 2027 exhibition season.

There are four exhibition spaces available within The Gallery in addition to gallery space in the adjacent Eastern Health Authority.

There is no venue hire fee, with a 20% commission on sales.

Exhibition opportunities are available across five dates:
• 22 January – 27 February
• 12 March – 17 April | Fringe Festival
• 18 June – 24 July | NAIDOC Week
• 6 August – 11 September | SALA Festival
• 24 September – 30 October | Nature Festival

Expressions of interest close 5pm Monday 19 October 2026.

Lost puppy found in Firle!

This Australian Cattle Dog, aged approximately 8–10 weeks, was found in Margaret Street, Firle on Thursday 10 September 2026.

The puppy is not microchipped or registered and we’re hoping to help reunite them with their owner.

If this is your dog, or you recognise them or have any information that may help us locate their owner, please contact our Citizen Service Team on 8366 4555.

An impound fee must be paid prior to collection. Payment can be made at Norwood Town Hall, or, if required, at one of our libraries over the weekend.

Looking for a new local spot to explore?

St Morris Reserve has had a refresh, creating a welcoming space for the whole community to enjoy. With a new playground, open grass areas, seating and landscaping, there’s plenty of room for kids to play, families to gather and everyone to enjoy the outdoors.

The upgraded reserve is also part of the Trinity Valley Stormwater Drainage Upgrade, helping improve stormwater management in the area while creating a great new community space.

Could your child’s artwork become part of our Christmas celebrations?

The Mayor’s Christmas Card Competition is back for its 20th year, giving local Kindergarten to Year 6 students the chance to put their creativity on display and create an original Christmas artwork.

Whether they imagine a traditional Christmas, an Aussie summer, a magical festive adventure or something entirely their own, we want to see what Christmas looks like through their eyes!
