The Avon Incident Support Brigade plays a significant and vital role in providing incident management.

Our team assists with crew registration, mapping support, controlling the radio nerwork and much more behind the scenes.

Honouring more than 20 Years of Dedicated Service

Congratulations to Ulo and Patricia Rumjantsev on receiving their Clasps, recognising two decades of outstanding commitment to Western Australia’s emergency services.

This milestone is not only a celebration of years served, but of the lasting legacy they have helped build.

Back in late 2017, Ulo was one of the first members to crew the District’s Incident Control Vehicle (ICV) alongside then Irish Town Bush Fire Brigade Captain David Russell. Operating from an Iveco van, they responded to some of the Wheatbelt’s largest emergencies, including major bushfires around BGC and Lakes, the Werribee incident, and the devastating Clackline fire that resulted in a 12-hour closure of Great Eastern Highway.

During 2017–2018, with the support of DFES District Manager Sven Andersen, District Officer Colin Brown, and many others, Ulo and Pat played an instrumental role in establishing the Incident Control Unit within the District. Their dedication, along with the efforts of fellow volunteers and DFES staff, helped lay the foundations for what has become an invaluable operational resource for emergency incidents across the region.

Today, the Incident Control Vehicle continues to support firefighters and emergency service personnel, providing a vital command and coordination capability at major incidents.

Congratulations once again, Ulo and Pat. Your commitment, leadership and willingness to serve your community have left a lasting mark on emergency services in the Wheatbelt. Thank you for over 20 years of service and congratulations on this well-deserved recognition. 🚒🏅👏

Avon Incident Support Brigade AGM – Executive Team 2026–2027.

Following our recent Annual General Meeting, we are pleased to announce the election and appointment of our Executive Team for the 2026–2027 year.

Congratulations to the following members who have stepped forward to lead and support our brigade:

Our brigade continues to be strengthened by the dedication, experience and commitment of our volunteers. We thank each of our Executive members for taking on these important roles and look forward to another successful year supporting our communities and emergency services across the Avon region.

A special thank you to all members who attended the AGM and contributed to the future direction of the brigade. We also acknowledge the efforts of our outgoing Executive members for their service and commitment over the past year.

Here’s to a safe, productive and rewarding 2026–2027!

Today our crew along with other Brigades completed our First Aid Course.

We went through DRSABCD and other elements including snake bite, broken bones and asthma, plus more.

An absolute blast, thanks the our participants and our instructor for a wonderful session.

PS: don’t you just love the pens.

Today we had the privilege of attending the Fire Fighters Memorial service in Northam.

This event was coordinated by the Northam Youth in Emergency Services Cadets and the team did a fabulous job and should be very proud. And our wonderful volunteer Patricia Rumjantsev created our wreath ❤️❤️ thank you.
