Thanks to Cr James Spenceley, Cr Ian Mutton, Cr Alanya Drummond for voting "YES" to keeping the sunny Young Street Plaza and focusing on pedestrian safety.

It was a sad day when our recission motion was voted down at North Sydney Council meeting on Monday night 6-4. I am extremely disappointed with this result and sorry for the people who signed the petition to keep the Young Street Plaza in support of our motion. Now Council will have to pay $100000.00 to re-establish the road and return $1.9m to the State Government - the money that was made available to us to improve the Plaza and make the road closure permanent.
Voting 6-4 at our meetings seems a new standard for North Sydney Council.

Such a shame that 6 councillors just voted to confirm the removal of Young Street Plaza turning it back into a road and driving traffic back in Neutral Bay Village.

I'm sorry to all the people that enjoyed and used the plaza and those that enjoyed not having traffic directed into Neutral Bay Village. Especially to the 500+ people who signed a petition to keep it open.
