Catherine McGuiness is an expressive artist whose vibrant works are filled with colour, movement and imagination to everything she creates. Constantly experimenting with paint, drawing and sculpture, she creates pieces that blur the line between representation and abstraction.

A Studio A artist and three-time Archibald Prize finalist, Catherine has collaborated with leading cultural institutions including the Art Gallery of New South Wales and the Museum of Contemporary Art.

Her work also has a special connection to North Sydney, with North Sydney Council acquiring her artwork Two Parrots for its permanent collection and later commissioning her to create an interactive display for the Children's Festival.

Her bold creativity, distinctive artistic voice and growing recognition have established Catherine as one of Australia's most exciting contemporary artists.

🚨Be aware of bird flu in NSW. A recent case of H5 bird flu (H5N1) was confirmed in a greater crested tern at Warriewood, near North Sydney.
If you see sick, injured or dead birds, please avoid contact and report it here: https://www.northsydney.nsw.gov.au/animals-1/birdflu. Early reporting helps authorities monitor and respond to disease outbreaks.

NSW has 25 events of H5 bird flu.

These event detections have mostly been in the South Coast area of NSW, in Greater crested terns.

The 3 new events of H5 bird flu are in Greater crested terns at Batemans Bay and Broulee and a Silver gull in Eden. A number of Greater crested terns have also tested positive but are additions to existing events.
