The State Government is attempting to bulldoze North Sydney Council and our community into giving up Bradfield Park (fronting Milsons Point Station) so that it can spend $55m on a velodrome styled bike ramp to augment the present 55 steps leading to the Harbour Bridge - wonderful to see up close how the State Government trashes our parklands and spends our money. Last Monday the entire Council backed my motion to get legal advice regarding my view that the State Government is over reaching its power.

Sad news this week - Sydney artist, Peter Kingston passed away yesterday 30 September 2022. He was a great supporter of the Sydney Harbour Highline, Nutcote, ferries, and most importantly friends. His artwork highlighted the harbour and his Comic Walk sculptures around Lavender Bay will remind us of him and how he saw life. RIP Peter. You will be remembered as a very special person.

Our Community Rally to save Young Street Plaza went ahead in spite of the rain on 23 July 2022. There was a good roll-up for the rally and everyone was sheltered from the rain under the shop awnings. Our speakers believe that retaining the road closure and updating the current temporary plaza is a step in the right direction. Councillors should make every effort to support the creation of a new plaza for the enjoyment of our community.
