Tonight 8th/7th Battalion, Royal Victoria Regiment - Australian Army hosted a wellbeing night.

Our Vice President Kim Sutton, President Mark Stonehouse and Senior Vice President Dave Murphy all attended.

It was great to show our support along with the other RSLs in the region as well as DVA, Soldier On and Vasey RSL.

To witness Adam from Vasey being presented his OP Bushfire Assist medal by OC Alpha Coy made the night really special.

Our Senior Vice President and Anzac Award recipient Dave Murphy has been busy.

The step in the meeting room outside the office is gone!
Replaced and definitely a huge improvement.

Please allow the concrete to dry, avoid the area if possible.

He's also added grip tape to the entry ramp and properly attached the exit/entry switches to the wall.
There is also some wet floor signs conveniently located next to the bar.

In 4 weeks a group of 20 Veterans representing several RSLs are walking the Kokoda Track, raising money for veterans.

The Lara RSL Sub Branch are seeking donations of school supplies that we can give to the children along the track.
These children would be descendants of the Fuzzy Wuzzys that saved many of our soldiers lives, during World War II.

If anyone is willing to donate pencils, pencil cases, notebooks, books, tennis balls, footballs or anything small of educational value, please reach out to us via this page or to Lara via their page.

The results are in!

The mystery meal that Kylie and Mel prepared (amazing roasts and desert, if you missed it) raised an incredible $305.50 for our Sub Branch.

This goes towards improving our club for the members and creates further opportunities to support veterans.

It was an honour to have the President of The Lara RSL Sub Branch drop by today.

Building and maintaining these important connections strengthens veteran advocacy and cements what the RSL is all about.

The The Lara RSL Sub Branch hosted staff from Hanwha Defense Australia, based at Avalon. With a quarter of Hanwha staff being Veterans, it's only fitting that we support these members and the company with their transition into a successful career, post Defence.

When the uniform comes off, it doesn't mean that service to Australia stops.
We are proud to have attended and able to support this effort.
