βοΈπ As the colder months approach, the focus at Nhill Fire Brigade is now swinging into our winter structure fire training program β and last night was an awesome way to kick things off π₯
Our members spent the evening sharpening their skills, working through realistic structure fire scenarios, reinforcing teamwork, communication, and operational procedures to ensure we are ready to respond when our community needs us most π¨βππ©βπ
The atmosphere around the brigade continues to be outstanding, with fantastic member turnout, strong engagement, and everyone eager to learn and improve πͺ
Winter traditionally sees an increase in house fires, particularly involving heaters, chimneys, clothes dryers, and electrical appliances β οΈπ which is why this type of training is so important for our brigade and also serves as a timely reminder for the community to make sure your home is prepared and fire safe.

As temperatures drop, we encourage everyone to:β’ Check and test your smoke alarms regularly πβ’ Ensure wood, electric, and gas heaters are serviced and operating safely π₯β’ Keep anything flammable well clear of heaters and fireplaces π«β’ Never leave clothes drying too close to heaters πβ’ Clean lint filters in clothes dryers after every use π§Ίβ’ Avoid overloading power boards and electrical outlets β‘β’ Have a home fire escape plan and discuss it with your family π‘
