By now, you will likely have seen extensive coverage of the Federal Budget, including analysis from the Local Government Association of Queensland (LGAQ), which has welcomed the Government’s decision to bring forward 80% of the Financial Assistance Grant, commit $2 billion to critical housing infrastructure, and confirm new rounds of community infrastructure funding.

Peak’s Grant Office has analysed the Federal Budget to identify potential impacts on current and future grant and funding programs for councils and their communities.

Key takeaways for FY27 include:
➡️ Continued investment in active transport, community infrastructure and local roads
➡️ Further rounds confirmed for Growing Regions, Thriving Suburbs and Stronger Communities
➡️ Some programs nearing completion, alongside a more competitive grants environment
➡️ Ongoing cost pressures that continue to impact project delivery

👉 What does this mean for your council and how should you prepare now?
