Emergency Vehicles & WA Warning System – Stay Safe!

When responding to an emergency, it’s vital that first responders can get to an incident quickly and safely.

When you spot an emergency vehicle while driving:
• Stay calm and look to see where it’s coming from.
• If safe, merge left to allow it to pass.
• If you can’t move left, slow down or stop and give them space.
• Never speed up or try to outrun them – there’s no need to rush.

Learn more about emergency services vehicles on the WA Government website. https://www.wa.gov.au/organisation/road-safety-commission/emergency-services-vehicles

⚠️ WA Warning System Update
The old Blue, Yellow, Red Alert and All Clear system is no longer used. WA now uses three nationally consistent warning levels:
🟡 Advice – Be aware and stay informed; an incident is active.
🟠 Watch and Act – There is a possible threat; take immediate action to stay safe.
🔴 Emergency Warning – Lives and homes are in danger; act now!
