Conversations for Palestine

Conversations for Palestine We are a collective of individuals in the Hunter committed to human rights in Palestine. Palestinian culture and identity will pervade!

Conversations for Palestine is a series of immersive events focusing on learning, culture, and connection, creating space to share knowledge and understanding with a specific focus on Palestine. Each event will feature a key note speaker

Recognizing the integral nature of resistance through art, music, and culture, each forum will incorporate a creative element. Artistic narrative has played a cr

itical role in resisting occupation, inspiring change and revolution, throughout history, and particularly in Palestine. Israel has murdered academics, poets, artists, intellectuals, and musicians, in what can only be interpreted as cultural eradication. However, the words of Refaat Alareer ring eternal: 'If I die, you must live to tell my story.' The narrative of resistance lives on in the words of those who survive, sharing their stories and bringing attention to truth. Conversations for Palestine aims to both educate and sound a strong call to action. Presented by the Hunter Round Table, a collective of individuals committed to human rights in Palestine.

Thank you to everyone who joined us yesterday at on unceded Awabakal and Worimi lands for the screening of Until the Sky Falls Quiet.

Were there tears? Yep. But there was also laughter, deep reflection, and powerful conversations that have stayed with us.

We’re so grateful to our incredible moderator Ahmed, and panel guests, Dr Siraj, Dr Sanjay and for sharing their wisdom, honesty and insights with such generosity. And thank you to every person who showed up with an open heart.

This film asks something of all of us. So as you go through the slides, choose a call to action that speaks to you.

The story doesn’t end when the film does ❤️film

There is only 5 days to go, until the Muloobinba screening of .film . If you haven’t got your tickets yet, don’t wait until they have sold out, which is what happened at The Voice of Hind Rajab screening earlier this year!

Check out the ticketing link in our bio and join us for a very special afternoon.

There will be fundraising stalls and a Q&A session following the film screening, we will have Dr Siraj Sira and Dr Sanjay Adusumilli, the two doctors featured in the film, members of the medical mission to Gaza in April 2024. We are also excited to meet Dr Saira Hussain, who went on medical missions to Gaza in October 2024, July 2025 and January 2026, and now living on the Central Coast. Coming back to Muloobinba as our MC and to moderate the Q&A, will be Ahmed Abadla, from .justice.movement

1:30pm Fundraising stalls
2pm Film Screening, followed by a Q&A session

Under fire and threat of armed expulsion
With little more than bare hands
You will learn how to keep alive
The world’s last living patient
Match the wristband with the consent paper
You read to your colleague the name ‘Hope’
She is bloodied and shrapnel punctured
Her limbs are somewhere under the rubble
Of Jabaliya
She is no longer whole
Yet she carries in her arms
The unborn
And the ghosts of Al Shifa
And the shattered hearts of the bereaved
And the empty hands of orphans
Tiny fingers
Seeking to curl themselves around
The hand they will always sense
But never know
And and and on and in into infinity
Yet she breathes
Because you will not leave your patient
It’s not because of medicine
Because you learned that
When the medicine runs out
When the blood banks run dry
When the gauze is deleted
When the light goes out
She still breathes
By your healing hands
By your resolve
To push your breath into her lungs
And stay by her side

Have you got your ticket for Kanaky 101 yet? Don’t miss out! Get yours right now!
Link in the bio or fannaan.events/events/2091

This is going to be an incredible night of education and discussion lead by The Kanaky Delegation.

We are also excited to announce that Kooma elder and activist Wayne ‘Coco’ Wharton, from Treaty Before Sports and Gomeroi poet Rob Waters, will be joining us!

Uncle Coco led the first Aboriginal Delegation to Kanaky in 2024, to form the strong connections that are growing in strength and solidarity - a similar fight against the settler colonial rulebook of violent occupation, incarceration and resource theft.

We will have a Kanaky merchandising stall, raising funds for The Delegation and donations and sales for them on the night, will be given to the delegation to take back to their communities, before they leave to travel home.

Fightback clothing, a 100% Aboriginal owned & operated brand based in Muloobinba, will also be selling their merchandise. This business is based on the principles of resistance, fearlessness, anti-racism and always being unapologetically ‘Black & Proud’.

Our event is the last in their speaking tour of so-called australia, Muloobinba is definitely on the map, a place of staunch activism and people driven for social change and justice!!!

So please join us 6-8pm TOMORROW, Wed 6th May
Theydy’s at 50 Clyde st, Hamilton North

Limited tickets so get yours now!
