Today is International Picnic Day, so we are sharing our wonderful collection of picnic pics! In the late 19th and early 20th centuries picnics were a popular social event in the community. Picnics were organised for workplaces, sporting clubs and church groups. Some picnics involved games such as the tug-of-war, while others were simply a social gathering. The Picnic Committee was usually responsible for the organisation of the picnic, including the location and activities, with popular locations being Toronto and Tomago.
