We are incredibly honoured to be part of this remarkable site and its ongoing storytelling.

For nearly 200 years, these grounds have witnessed countless lives, stories and moments that helped shape the identity of New Norfolk and Tasmania itself.

To be able to share this history with visitors, preserve the stories of those connected to the site, and help keep its legacy alive for future generations is something we are deeply proud of.

Every tour is an opportunity to reflect, learn and connect with the many layers of history that make this place so significant.

Today, on International Nurses Day, we recognise and honour the dedicated nursing staff who cared for patients at Willow Court throughout its long and significant history.

For generations, nurses at Willow Court provided care, support and compassion to patients receiving treatment at the hospital. Their work was often challenging and emotionally demanding, requiring resilience, compassion and an unwavering commitment to their patients.

The history of Willow Court is deeply connected to the nurses who devoted years of service to the institution and the people who relied on their care.

Today we acknowledge their contribution to Tasmania’s medical and mental health history, and we thank nurses everywhere — past and present — for the important role they continue to play in our communities.

Their dedication and stories remain an important part of Tasmania’s history. ❤️
