A very sad day in our emergency services community and for the wider community.

Our hearts are with the NSW Ambulance service following the shocking death of an on-duty paramedic in Sydney’s south today. We are thinking of the family, friends and colleagues of the dedicated first responder who will not go home tonight.

It takes less than 3 minutes for a fire to fill a room. If a fire starts in your home, and you are unable to smother it with a fire blanket or safely extinguish it, you must:

🚪Close the door
🏃‍♂️Get out
🏡Stay out
📲Call Triple Zero (000)

Unfortunately, there was a fatality after a home fire last week. The passing of the occupant was a sombre reminder of how quickly fire spreads and the importance of evacuating.

Help us keep the community safe, if you have a neighbour, or loved one who is not on social media, check-in with them (in a COVID safe way)! Ask them if they know what to do and who to call if a fire were to start in their home.
