VRA Rescue NSW Narromine are the primary responders for General Land Rescue and Specialist Rescue in Narromine and the surrounding local areas. Working closely with other emergency personnel, VRA Rescue NSW Narromine are ready to respond at a moments notice, to lend a “helping hand, anywhere, anytime.”

🚨 PIARO DONE & DUSTED… OR SO WE THOUGHT! 🚨

Another successful weekend of PIARO assessments has wrapped up at the VRA Rescue NSW State Office, under the watchful eyes of our Western Region Training Team assessors.

But when we say “done and dusted,” we all know that in rescue, there’s no such thing as finishing early! 😂

With a spare vehicle on site, it would have been a shame to let it go to waste! 🚗🔧

So, rather than packing up and heading home, members took the opportunity to squeeze in some additional Road Crash Rescue (RCR) training, sharpening their practical skills, refining techniques and picking the brains of our experienced assessors for a few extra tips and tricks.

After all, when you’ve got experienced assessors, rescue equipment and a perfectly good training vehicle sitting there, why waste the opportunity? Apparently, going home on time is optional! 😂

On a serious note, this is exactly the attitude we love to see. Rescue is about continuous learning, teamwork and maintaining the skills needed to perform safely and effectively when our communities need us most.

👏 A huge congratulations to all members who participated in assessments over the weekend. Your commitment, determination and willingness to continue learning are a credit to yourselves, your squads and VRA Rescue NSW.

A special thank you to our Western Region Training Team assessors for giving up their time, sharing their knowledge and continuing to support the development of our members.

PIARO ASSESSMENTS | WESTERN REGION TRAINING 💪

Over the weekend, members from across the Western Region are undertaking their PIARO assessments at the VRA Rescue NSW State Office, under the watchful eye of our dedicated Western Region Training Team assessors.

These assessments provide members with the opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge, practical skills, teamwork and ability to respond safely and effectively in emergency situations.

Ongoing training and assessment play a vital role in maintaining operational readiness and ensuring our members have the skills, confidence and capabilities required to assist their communities when called upon.

👏 To all members undertaking their assessments this weekend, we wish you every success! Trust your training, support one another and give it your best effort.

A special thank you to our Western Region Training Team assessors for their continued dedication, professionalism and commitment to developing the next generation of rescue operators.

VRA Rescue NSW Narromine is proud to have two of our dedicated young members, Alyssa and Ethan, representing VRA Rescue NSW at the Young Persons Volunteering Forum, joining the Commissioner and fellow young volunteers.

This important initiative provides young volunteers with an opportunity to share their experiences, contribute ideas and participate in discussions about the future of volunteering within VRA Rescue NSW.

At Narromine, we are committed to supporting and developing our younger members, recognising the important role they play in the future of our organisation.

Through training, mentoring and leadership opportunities, we aim to encourage our young volunteers to build their confidence, develop new skills and actively contribute to the direction of VRA Rescue NSW.

Just when you thought Sunday morning couldn’t come around any quicker… we’re stealing an hour from you! 😂

Daylight Saving starts Sunday, 4 October 2026 at 2:00 am, when the clocks jump forward to 3:00 am.

😴 One less hour of sleep
☕ One extra reason for coffee
☀️ But more daylight to enjoy in the afternoon!

🔥 And while you’re changing the clocks, it’s a great reminder to check your smoke alarms and change the batteries if required.

Heading away for the October Long Weekend? Wherever you’re travelling, make sure getting there safely is your number one priority.

VRA Rescue NSW Narromine is reminding everyone to slow down, stay alert and drive to the road and weather conditions.

🚗 Allow extra time for your journey
📵 Put the phone away
😴 Take regular breaks and don’t drive tired
🚫 Never drink and drive
🔒 Buckle up — every trip, every time
🤝 Be patient and courteous to other road users

The roads may be busier than usual, so there’s no need to rush.

It’s better to arrive a little later than not arrive at all.

☀️ THE SUN IS OUT — AND SO ARE OUR MEMBERS! ⚽️

VRA Rescue NSW Narromine members are out and about today, providing medical standby support at the Sixes Soccer Carnival.

Our team will be on-site for the next four days, helping ensure players, officials and spectators have access to medical assistance should it be required.

It’s another great opportunity for our members to support the local community while working behind the scenes to help keep everyone safe.

A big thank you to the organisers, participants and supporters who make community events like this possible. We’re proud to work alongside the people and organisations who give their time and effort to bring our community together.

We wish all teams the best of luck for the carnival — enjoy the sunshine, play hard and stay safe!

Today, VRA Rescue NSW Narromine pauses to honour and remember the police officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting their communities.

As emergency service personnel, we have the privilege of working alongside members of the NSW Police Force at incidents and operations, witnessing firsthand their professionalism, courage and commitment to keeping our communities safe.

We remember those who never made it home, acknowledge the families, friends and colleagues they left behind, and thank all serving and retired police officers for their service.

Their service. Their sacrifice. We will remember them. 💙
