The Hilltop, Narrogin Hospitality Trade Training Centre

The Hilltop Cafe is Western Australia’s only High School student operated restaurant.

Our unique facility enables enrolled students to complete their Certificate II in Hospitality, gaining practical skills and valuable feedback from the local community. Hospitality Trade Training Centre with a student run restaurant that is open to the public weekly. Narrogin Senior High School delivers both Certificate II in Hospitality and Certificate II in Kitchen Operations in a specialised three year course. The students learn all facets of running a restaurant in our state of the art Hospitality Trade Training Centre. Borrowing from the TAFE model, workplace learning has been introduced at The Hilltop restaurant. The students plan, cost and design the ever changing menu to support their studies in Certificate II in Kitchen Operations. With local coffee beans provided by the Woolshed, students have opportunities for great barista training that services not only the restaurant patrons but school staff throughout the week. So next time you are in Narrogin feel free to pop up to The Hilltop and support students who strive to bring you a dining experience to remember.

🌺 Lest We Forget. 🌺 Thank you to our trade students and staff who did a wonderful job catering for guests, following this year's Anzac Day Ceremony at Narrogin Senior High School, honouring the contribution and sacrifice of those who have, and who continue, to serve.

💚 Congratulations to our students, Ellie and Winter, who competed in the ‘Kids in the Kitchen’ competition at Wagin Woolorama 2026. Participants had just 30 mins to craft their dishes, with no assistance, in front of a live audience. Our students did us proud, not just cooking, but preparing most of their dish from scratch!
Ellie and Winter were not winners on the day, but they hit the brief 💯 using local-regional WA produce to prepare a 'Wheatbelt Steer + Pier Burger' featuring these quality ingredients:
✔️ Quindanning Buffalo Pattie
✔️ Fresh panfried Cambinata Yabbies with garlic
✔️ Cape Naturaliste Hickory Smoked Creamy Cheddar
✔️ Rocket, roma tomato, lemon myrtle aioli
✔️ Panfried potatoes with Hilltop Bush Garden rosemary
✔️ Queenslea Park Honey and macadamia slaw
✔️ Arthurs Grove Olive Oil
✔️ Native Pepperberry
✔️ Lake Deborah Salt (𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘥)
