🚧 Road closure notice - Narrandera C*D

Council advises that road closures will be in place on Saturday 7 November 2026 for the Narrandera Spring Fair.

The following roads will be closed from 12pm to 10pm:
➡️ East Street
➡️ Bolton Street
➡️ Twynam Street

Road users are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and use alternative routes where possible.

The displays include:
🖼️ Narrandera High School art exhibition - explore sculptures, drawings and fibre art inspiried by native wildlife, created by students across different year groups. You can also vote for your favourite in each category for the People's Choice Awards. Voting closing 30 October!

🐨 Our local koala story - learn about Narrandera's koala population and the counts recorded since their translocation in the 1970s.

🍃 Leaf Your Mark - take part in an interactive display by using leaves from native eucalyptus trees to leave a message for koalas. Your contribution will help a PhD student with her research.

Pop in, explore the displays and learn more about the wildlife that makes our region special.

Landholders reminder to check vehicle hygiene

With many cereal crops being cut and baled for hay, Narrandera Shire Council is reminding landholders to check vehicles and machinery entering their properties.

Contaminated machinery can spread w**ds such as Wild Radish and Boneseed between farms, particularly when contractors have moved between properties and Shires.

Landholders are encouraged to inspect machinery before entry, limit access points where possible, display biosecurity signage and keep a visitor register.

🚧 Carpark closure - Narrandera Leeton Airport

Council advises that the western end of the Narrandera-Leeton Airport carpark will be closed from Monday, 2 November to Saturday, 7 November 2026, to allow for the upcoming Caravan Weigh Day event.

Please follow any signage in place and make alternative parking arrangements during this time.

Notice of planned w**d spraying

Narrandera Shire Council will be undertaking pesticide applications across the Shire from 26 October 2026 to 31 January 2027, weather permitting.

Spraying will take place in parks, sportsgrounds, cemeteries and along roadsides to manage vegetation and control w**ds.

Residents are advised to follow signage displayed at application sites and observe any access restrictions.

Narrandera Vigil for Helen Haines MP

📍 Narrandera CRC Hall, 39 Bolton Street Narrandera

The Narrandera and surrounding community is invited to attend a 15-minute vigil in support of Helen Haines and her family.

The ecumencial event, supported by the combined churches of Narrandera and local community members, will be hosted at the CRC Plaza Centre as part of a planned National Vigil.

The gathering will be an opportunity for the community to come together and show support for compassion, empathy, peace and our shared humanity.

Families with young children are warmly welcome. A play area will be available in a side room, and the vigil will be guided by an MC to ensure the event is comfortable for everyone attending.

Water meter replacements

Replacements of approximately 600 customer water meters across Narrandera will commence from 2 November 2026.

Impacted customers will have already received a letter with all the relevant information, and regular water billing will be delayed until the project is completed.

Council appreciates the community's patience and cooperation during these works.
