Advice

The NSW SES advises people in the following area(s) to STAY INFORMED about predicted inundation and road closures due to minor flooding on the Myall River:

- Upper Markwell
- Markwell
- Bulahdelah
- Nerong
- Crawford River

You should stay informed by monitoring warnings issued by NSW SES on their website and page, listening to your local ABC radio station, and checking the latest weather information from the Bureau of Meteorology online.

What are we expecting?

The Bureau of Meteorology advises minor flooding possible at Bulahdelah Friday afternoon.

Moderate to locally heavy rainfall recorded in the Myall catchment since Thursday afternoon has caused river level rises at Bulahdelah and upstream.

Further rainfall is forecast for the remainder of Friday, which may lead to additional river level rises. Minor flooding may develop along the Myall River at Bulahdelah Friday afternoon.

Based on predictions from the Bureau of Meteorology, the following areas may be impacted by dangerous floodwaters:

- Low lying areas adjacent to the river
- Low lying roads and causeways
- Jackson Street
- Stroud Street

If you’ve ever felt that quiet pull to do something that truly matters — this might be it.

Joining the NSW State Emergency Service isn’t about being a hero. It’s about being willing.

Willing to learn.
Willing to train.
Willing to show up when your community needs you most.

From storms and floods to road crash rescue and community education, SES volunteers are everyday people who step forward in extraordinary moments. Teachers. Tradies. Parents. Students. Retirees. People just like you.

You don’t need experience — you’ll be trained and supported every step of the way. What matters most is commitment, teamwork, and a desire to serve something bigger than yourself.

Volunteering with the SES means:
• Gaining practical, real-world skills
• Building lifelong friendships
• Strengthening your leadership and resilience
• Making a genuine difference in your local community

Sometimes the call to serve is loud.
Sometimes it’s quiet.
But when the storm hits, you’ll be glad you answered it.

Join the SES. Because when it matters most, someone needs to show up. Join today at https://www.ses.nsw.gov.au/volunteer.

Stroud SES needs your help !!

Your local SES Unit is training in Road Crash Rescue and needs your help in obtaining Cars, Utes, Station Wagons, Hatchbacks, etc to sacrifice to the skill development of our RCR Operators. Cars are hard to get these days and our trained and trainee volunteers would be very appreciative of any donations from the local communities that we cover.

Vehicles need to be – Unregistered, Reasonably intact, able to be loaded on to a car trailer and not disintegrating due to age or rust. (Pranged, Blown engines, stuffed clutch, un-roadworthy, too expensive to repair is OK).

If you have a vehicle that fits this description and you want to be rid of it please let us know via
- Facebook Private Message
- email to [email protected]
We will arrange inspection, collection and transport.

If you desire we can arrange to send you before and after photos of your preloved, recently departed vehicle after a training session. A lasting memento … 😏

Thanks in advance 😊
